International Recruitment Agency

Brook Street

Brook Street Bureau is a UK recruitment. The company is one of the UK’s leading employment agencies. Founded in Mayfair in 1946 by Margery Hurst.

ROLE

SENIOR DESIGNER

2014 - 2016

Responsibility

My role at Brook Street was to fully update a brand that had not seen a full refresh in over a decade. First task was to redevelop the core brand from the ground up, adapting the using the original Brook Street logo, taking their trademark blue created when the company was founded in 1946, and using that to create a range of materials including, business cards, brochures, flyers, and social media graphics.

Outcome

Creating a large range of branding materials for a recruitment company requires a significant amount of work and attention to detail with over 100+ branches to service and 1000+ pages of design to proof and print.

The process began with the development of a branding strategy to outline the company's values, mission, and target audience. This strategy informed the visuals and messaging of all branding materials.

Using clean clear typography and working closely with the Marketing Director, I set about these materials to aid the branches in the UK, as well as additional branches in the US, care and home care sectors.

over 1000+ Pages of design, guidelines for brook street brand and 3x subsidiary companies created in under a year

Case Studies

One of the requirements of role was to create pitches for external clients, upon a successful pitch ensuing recruitment advertising design was brought in-house.

Amazon

With a large recruitment drive required in Eastern Scotland with the marketing and bids team we developed a successful pitch that led to a full campaign across Scotland for warehouse workers.

The campaign was a success with all available slots for workers filled within 2 months.

HC One

HC One required a refresh to their home are materials, with the branded focus to show the human aspect of working with them.

We took the core aspects of their brand and combine them with imagery that shows the “home care’ in HC One.

NPower

NPower wanted to create a campaign that appealed to part-time workers, appealing to applicants as a flexible role. Using their brand guidelines we setup a range of ads with taglines reflecting the open nature of the roles, sourcing models and art directing a photoshoot to cover all possible uses for marketing materials.

The ads ran nationwide fulfilling the recruitment targets set for us by NPower.

Microsoft

For Microsoft we came in with a pitch to setup and internal recruitment department within their head office running as their in house employer. Once successful we then set about making a range of advertisements for this internal agency.

A large part of this was to represent working life in their offices in Reading, this led to my Art Directing a photoshoot of their offices and using these photos as a core component of the campaigns visuals.

"Phil has done a wonderful job in designing and impressive presentations for us in the recent business review with Microsoft.
His impactful graphics bring to like the current market which
those at Microsoft always show an interest in."
